Samnaun: To Ischgl and back – on skis, please!

Snow fun for everyone at the biggest winter sports arena in the Eastern Alps

Samnaun, in the Swiss Engadine, has a famous winter sports partner at its side: the Austrian ski region of Ischgl. Together, the two resorts form the cross-border Silvretta Ski Arena, the biggest winter sports arena in the Eastern Alps. And it’s certainly well worth a visit!

Thanks to snow-sure altitudes between 1,700 and 2,900 metres, you'll have plenty of time to conquer the 239 kilometres of ski runs at Samnaun ski resort. The ski season starts at the end of November and lasts until the beginning of May, if conditions are favourable.

By the way: In Samnaun, there are lots of things to do other than skiing or snowboarding. Whether you opt for winter hiking, sledging, tobogganing or cross-country skiing: You can get the right winter sports equipment at INTERSPORT Rent.

INTERSPORT Rent tip

Our RENTertainers recommend

Are black slopes your preferred winter sports terrain? Then Samnaun is perfect for you! Go ahead and pick your favourite(s) from eleven black ski runs. A total of 27 kilometres take you downhill at breakneck speeds – and get your adrenaline pumping equally as fast.

We recommend run number 14a. Starting at Greitspitz, you can ski down the north slope along the Lange Wand with a gradient of up to 70 percent, all the way to Höllboden. That’s 600 metres of pure thrill in wonderfully grippy snow. Want to go again? With the Lange-Wand-Bahn C5, you can start your next descent from the summit in around six minutes.
