From Montgenèvre to the Via Lattea

Winter sports in the fifth largest ski area in the world

Montgenèvre ski area is known for its family-friendly winter sports offers. On the French-Italian border, you can enjoy numerous hours of sunshine, snow-sureness thanks to the resort’s high elevation, and practice slopes close to the village.

Due to Montgenèvre’s connection to the ski resorts of Sestrière, Clavière, Sansicario and Sauze d'Oulx, you have access to the Via Lattea ski network. With 400 kilometres of ski runs, the network is one of the five largest ski areas in the world!

By the way: The Vallée de la Clarée is only 23 kilometres away from Montgenèvre, and a trip there will be well worth your while. The region boasts 60 kilometres of beautiful cross-country ski trails. Do you still need cross-country equipment? Our RENTertainers at the local shops have got you covered!

Skiing in Montgenèvre

More about the ski resort

Montgenèvre offers perfect conditions for skiing, especially for families – but there's also plenty to do away from the slopes: from a visit to the newly created picnic area for families to snowshoeing and llama walks or a speedy descent on a toboggan run.

If you've already outgrown the beginner slopes, Montgenèvre has almost limitless options for experienced skiers. The magic word: endurance! There are over 400 kilometres of ski runs at the Via Lattea – the "Milky Way".

INTERSPORT Rent tip

Our RENTertainers recommend

Winter fun at its best! On the boardercross course in Montgenèvre, 1.5 kilometres of snowboard fun are waiting for you. The course is located in a quiet location away from the regular slopes, between the Sagnes run and the snowpark in the Gondrans sector.

Good to know: Children can master this course as well, and it’s a fun experience for all family members.
