Mürren-Schilthorn: skiing in the secret service of Her Majesty

James Bond-esque adventures in the Jungfrau Region

Mürren-Schilthorn ski resort is located in the Bernese Oberland region and – together with Grindelwald-First, Grindelwald-Wengen and Meiringen-Hasliberg – part of the Jungfrau Ski Region. From the slopes of the ski resort, winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch". No wonder the producers of "James Bond" made it a shooting location for one of their famous movies: Several scenes of On Her Majesty's Secret Service were filmed on Schilthorn.

Steep slopes, long downhill runs, a spectacular terrain park, and action-packed sledging runs: Friends of adventurous winter sports fun will quickly feel at home in Mürren-Schilthorn. For some well-earned peace and relaxation amidst all the action, cosy huts and picturesque winter hiking trails await.

James Bond has his Aston Martin – skiers have their two boards. Do you want to ski down the slopes as stylishly and elegantly as 007? Then you should rent your equipment at INTERSPORT Rent. The latest models from leading manufacturers are waiting for you at the local shops ...

More about the ski resort

Mürren-Schilthorn is the highest ski resort in the Bernese Oberland region. At the summit of the Schilthorn, at 2,970 metres above sea level, you can enjoy fantastic 360-degree views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. But the view from the Sky View platform is only one of the many perks of visiting the region. The varied ski resort also offers ski runs for every skill level, a terrain park for freestylers, a kid's slope, a Skimovie run, and a skicross course. Even among freeriders, the Schilthorn is considered an absolute insider tip.

As an alternative to skiing and snowboarding, you can go on an exciting sledging safari with your family or friends. Two sledging runs lead through idyllic forests and past quaint little chalets. Along the way, you will time and again catch a glimpse of the surrounding mountains. Those who prefer to take in the mountain panorama at a more leisurely pace can explore the area on the numerous winter hiking trails.

Did you know? The small village of Mürren can only be reached by cable car or narrow-gauge railway from Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen. The car-free chalet village delights with its picturesque scenery and absolute tranquility.

INTERSPORT Rent tip

Our RENTertainers recommend

Brunch like Bond: In the 360-degree Piz Gloria restaurant, you can enjoy a tasty "James Bond Brunch" (daily until 2 pm). The buffet leaves nothing to be desired – and the same is true for the view! Within 45 minutes, the restaurant on Schilthorn rotates once around its own axis.

Fun fact: You think you can pay homage to the most famous British agent with a cup of English tea? Think again! 007 preferred coffee and referred to tea as "mud" both in Zero Minus Ten and in Goldfinger.
